Why I write this blog

Alright, I think its time to take a break from ranting and tell you a little bit about myself and why I write this blog.

I used to host a breakfast radio show however I don’t any more. When I was on breakfast radio, I had somewhere to talk about the stupid things in life, somewhere to rant and somewhere to entertain people. I really enjoy putting a humorous spin on life so I needed a new outlet. this is why I thought that starting a blog would be a good idea.

Why I write this blog

I write because I enjoy it and it gives me something constructive to do on an evening. Writing is much more interesting than sitting on my ass every night watching re-runs of reality shows featuring bullshit celebrities which seems to be the only thing on television these days. Writing is definitely a different kind of challenge. Unlike radio, I am here on my own, putting my semi-well constructed thoughts into text instead of blurting out the first thing that comes into my head with 2 other idiots to bounce ideas from.

Maybe this blog will take off, maybe it won’t. Regardless, I hope that readers will find my writing to be humorous, honest, observational, and to have a point about something all summed up in a somewhat nice conclusion (most of the time!).

I am not one of those people who writes about their mundane life which consists of waking up, taking kids to school and cooking dinner. This is because I’m still half asleep most of the day, I don’t have any kids yet and I’m not allowed to cook because I make a mess in the kitchen.

When writing, I think that the same piece of advice I was given whilst hosting on the radio is very relevant. “Be different, people have mundane lives of their own so they don’t want to hear about yours. Be funny, be entertaining, be exciting, but most of all be different.” I don’t have anything to sell and I don’t have a call to action trying to get money from you after every sentence.

My blogging journey

I have a long way to go with my blogging journey. Tens of thousands of people used to listen to every word I said when I was on the radio and I would get instant feedback in the form of hundreds of text messages per hour sent into the studio. Now I just feel like I am yelling into a big empty space.

Now that I have made my point, go back to my homepage by clicking here and have a read of some of my other posts. Like them, share them on social media and email them to your friends because the only way I am going to get anything back for the hours of work that I put into this damn thing. In the end, the success of this blog is down to the kind hearted sharing from you, the reader.

Oh… And please click on an advert because that’s the only way that this blog pays for itself! Thank you for being here 🙂
